Last week, we received a call from the vets to say a 3-year-old Terrier named Daisy had gone into labour but was experiencing difficulties delivering 3 of her 6 puppies. By the time we received the call Daisy had already given birth to 3 of her puppies – 1 boy and 2 girls (white puppies pictured) – but the other 3 were stuck with one already having lost its heartbeat. They other two were fading so a c-section was the only option.

We couldn’t not step in and help this poor mum to be during what must have been a frightening ordeal, so the c-section went ahead. Sadly 2 of the 3 puppies didn’t make it but another tiny boy survived making Daisy the proud mum of 4 healthy puppies.
After the birth, Daisy and her tiny new family moved into foster care to recover. Her puppies who are yet to be named are all doing well and Daisy is proving to be a very good mum to her sleepy brood. We cannot thank the vets enough for how hard they worked to ensure Daisy and her puppies came through the labour.

We couldn’t be there for dogs like Daisy and her puppies if it wasn’t for the ongoing help of our passionate community of supporters. People like you make it possible for us to say yes when a dog falls into distress that puts their life at risk and we cannot thank you enough. If you feel moved by Daisy’s story, please consider making a donation towards the cost of her c-section, treatment and ongoing care.

If you'd like to donate you can do so directly on Facebook, onlineby calling us on 01443 226659 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm) or by texting HOPERESCUE to 70085. Texts cost your donation plus one standard network rate message and you'll be opting in to hear more from us. Text HOPERESCUENOINFO to donate but not hear from us.

We’ll keep you updated on this sweet new mum’s progress and how her puppies are growing into their characters but until then we’d all like to say a huge thank you for your help.
