Stud dogs - the forgotten victims of puppy farming

Toby recently arrived from a puppy farm along with 7 other dogs. We would challenge anyone to say this is "normal" behaviour, yet our current Welsh breeding regulations state it is acceptable to licence a premises for 200 plus breeding dogs.

There is currently no cap on the maximum number of dogs a licensed breeder can have. The very principle of the mass farming of puppies is surely a contravention of the Animal Welfare Act when it produces dogs so terrified of the outside world all they can do is hide?

Toby has truly broken our rescue- hardened hearts. The stud dogs are the forgotten victims of puppy farming. They are often kept isolated and only brought out when they need to perform their "duties". Toby is in a foster home and it's going to be a long road ahead for him and the other ex-breeders currently in our care. It's not just their broken bodies we need to fix; the bigger challenge is often healing their broken minds.
