The Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation has been dynamic and at Hope Rescue we have put measures in place to ensure that we look after the health and well-being of our staff and volunteers, whilst also ensuring the welfare of our rescue dogs is not compromised.

These measures take into account the impact of likely staff and volunteer availability, supplier issues, the financial impact of the charity shop closure, falling boarding income and cancelled fundraising events. As a result, we have taken the decision to close intake for routine owner surrenders.

We have taken in some dogs that we had already committed to take. However, we are still not able to take in dogs from the public other than those admitted through our stray dog contracts.

Please do not pretend your dog is a stray, as that will not help the situation at all. We would ask that you contact other local rescues and be prepared to go on their waiting lists.

We hope you understand our decision. It's a time when we have to make difficult but measured decisions to ensure we can weather this unprecedented storm and ensure our sustainability for the longer term.

Thank you.
