As is the case with so many of the dogs that come into our care, we don’t know what kind of life little Flora had before she came to us, but what we do know is that she has been bred from and she’s very frightened of people. She was brought in as a stray and no one came forward to claim her so we cannot rule out that she was discarded after being bred from.

Due to how frightened she is – even now after a week in our care – we still cannot get a look at her teeth to determine roughly how young or old this girl is. Our team are working very slowly with her to begin to instill trust in us, mainly sitting outside her kennel talking gently to her, but we’re not sure how long it’ll take for us to see her real character shine through.

We’ve begun treatment for a chronic ear infection she came in with, which we hope she responds to but so much is uncertain right now. What is certain is that we will not give up on Flora because like so many of the bully breeds we’ve had through our doors recently she deserves a chance at a loving and happy life.

We’ll do all we can to help Flora overcome the physical and emotional traumas she’s burdened with and as always, we’ll keep you updated on her progress.

If you can help by making a donation to Flora’s care we’d really appreciate it.
