Tig is a 6 year old Pomeranian who is a sweet but sensitive chap. He has epilepsy, which is currently well managed, and he's looking for a patient, understanding home that will continue to help him grow in confidence.

The perfect home

Since arriving in foster care, Tig has made fantastic progress. Initially a little unsure around other dogs, he has become much more relaxed. He's currently in foster with another dog and could live with another dog in his new home dependant on a successful introduction at the Centre. 

An active little dog, Tig is a joy to walk and loves being out exploring and going on adventures with his favourite people. His favourite toys are balls and his treat filled Kong, and he enjoys enrichment that keeps his clever mind busy.

Tig forms strong bonds with the people he trusts and loves affection on his own terms. While he enjoys cuddles and gentle fuss, he isn't a typical lap dog and often prefers to relax at the other end of the sofa or on a cool spot on the floor. He can be wary of strangers, particularly if they reach towards his face, so he'll need adopters who are happy to let him build trust at his own pace. Once he knows someone, he becomes a much more affectionate and confident companion. Tig would be happiest in a quiet adult only home or one with sensible older teenagers. 

At home, Tig settles well after his walks and sleeps soundly through the night. He is house trained, and travels well in the car. Tig can find being left alone a little overwhelming, he'll need a home where someone is around for much of the day initially, with any time left alone built up gradually. Tig would be best suited to a home where adopters are retired or work from home as he would struggle with being left for long periods. 

Tig has epilepsy, which is currently well controlled with medication. We would be happy to discuss this further with any successful applicants.
