Despite all the challenges we helped 589 dogs to find their forever home in 2020. Help us to celebrate this incredible achievement by joining together to walk 5890 miles throughout March.

As you know last year was a tough one for us all and the impact of the pandemic was dramatic; our rescue centre was closed to the public and our volunteers; our charity shop in Pontypridd flooded during Storm Dennis as a result closed and in need of a full refurbishment, our fundraising events were cancelled, and the boarding kennels closed. This had an enormous impact on our income, in fact we lost around £1000 every day.

In March 2021 we want to celebrate the fact that we have worked through this together and we will come out stronger! And what better way to do this than to bring back our Waggy Walk, virtual style! You and your pooch can rack up the miles and money by putting a spring in your step on your very own Virtual Waggy Walk. We want you to walk 5890 miles collectively in March to represent every dog in our care last year, could you and your family help us get there?

The total sounds like a lot but together we can do this. You set your mile and fundraising target and here are a few idea, you could pledge to:

• Walk or run 5.89 miles each week
• Walk as a family with a target of 58.9 miles throughout the month - for a family of 4 that is 14.7 miles each.
• For the ultimate challenge set yourself a 589 mile challenge!

The choice really is yours!

Why not pledge a mile? Ask your friends and family to sponsor you per mile as you go, up to 58.9 miles. This way you can see the money rising along with the miles as you walk! You could even get a pledge for your dog steps as well; a donation per mile for your dog will ensure you achieve your target and more! What an inspiring way to start your Waggy Walk.
