Rocky says "thank you" to everyone who has donated to help with the vet fees for his surgery to repair his broken kneecap. He also sends an extra "woof" to the anonymous donor who kindly donated £500.
The surgery went well and Rocky is still a lively, fun-loving pup and is a real happy, smiley boy. He needs to go back to the vets in two weeks to have his staples out, then again to have the pins removed.
** GREAT NEWS - MADDIE NOW HAS A LOVELY FOSTER HOME **
Maddie is about 9 or 10 years old and is a Chihuahua cross who was surrendered into our care via Social Services due to her owner being ill. As well as helping strays, ensuring we are there to help pet owners in crisis is a key aspect of our work.
She is a lovely wee thing, enjoys a short walk but doesn't need much exercise, loves a fuss and is very affectionate.
Our Amazon Wishlist is now more important than ever in our new rescue centre.
The list of items needed keeps growing and so we have updated our Amazon Wishlist and would be really grateful for any donations.
Our priority items at the moment are tinned food, Halti training leads, fleece harnesses and long lasting treats but any donations would be greatly appreciated.
We are now able to offer licensed boarding in 20 kennels at our new Rescue Centre in Llanharan, South Wales.
All boarding dogs receive a daily walk in our own private 18 acre woodland, and are cared for by our professional animal welfare team.
The cost is £14 per day, which includes arrival and departure days. We also offer a bathing service from £10 per dog on the day of collection.
Today is a special day for Hope Rescue and it wouldn't have been possible without the generous help and support we've received along the way.
After many months of a complete refurbishment, our charity shop in Pontypridd is ready to open for business this weekend.
It will open on Saturday, 22 April at 10am, so please do come along to see the results of all the hard work and have a look at our fabulous store.
There are so many great items for sale as well as information about dogs for adoption, volunteering opportunities and so much more.
We will be helping our friends at Caldicot Castle to run the fun dog show again this year. There will also be a Hope Rescue stall full of great items for sale to help us raise much-needed funds.
Please come along to see us. If you can help out on the day or beforehand, please do get in touch on firstname.lastname@example.org
We would like to say a huge thank you to Dust and Things for their fabulous donation of £550 to help with the new centre. Mike and the team popped over last week to present us with the cheque. Please do check out their website - they make the most beautiful unique and personalised gifts which have also featured in some of our fundraising auctions and raffles https://dustandthings.com/.
** VERY SAD UPDATE **
We are so very sorry to let you know that Cerys, the little blue and white French Bulldog cross pup, has sadly passed away. The vets did their very best but Parvovirus is a devastating disease and at just six weeks old she just wasn't strong enough to fight it.
