We finally revealed our BIG secret at Barking Mad…Hope Rescue is buying its own rescue centre! We still can’t really believe it ourselves as this has always been our aspiration and with everyone’s help, we can make this dream a reality.
We received a call last week from a worried member of the public about Penny, an underweight 11 year old Labrador-cross with a skin condition, flea infestation and overgrown claws. Penny is now safe in our care and getting the vet treatment and TLC she so desperately needs. She is thriving in a fabulous foster home and despite her poor condition, is showing what a loving and sweet girl she is.
This bank holiday was a very busy one with two shows in quick succession – Bedwellty on Saturday and then Barking Mad on Bank Holiday Monday. We are so very grateful for everyone who came along to show their support for us and the work we do. A huge thank you to everyone for all their hard work in making both shows such great successes.
Barking Mad is our annual fun dog show and this year it was bigger and better than ever before. The crowds queuing up to get in were unbelievable and the class entries were incredible – our two judges certainly had their work cut out for them.
It’s that time of year again when our annual Barking Mad Dog Show is here. This year will be bigger and better than ever before, with stalls, displays and activities for all the family.
We've got a bouncy castle, face painting and balloon modelling for the kids, trade and charity stalls, displays, our delicious doggy deli and human vegan cakes, free microchipping by our friends from the Dogs Trust, raffles and competitions, and much, much more.
This year we will be running the Hope Fun Dog Show again at the Bedwellty Agricultural Show. We will also be there with Hope Rescue stalls selling our delicious doggy deli as well as crafts from our Handmade by Hope collection and other doggy items.
Please come along to see us, the dog show is great fun and the show is always a good day out.
If you are able to help us either set up the day before or on the day itself, please get in touch on email@example.com
GOOD NEWS - THE OWNER HAS BEEN LOCATED.
We are appealing for information to help locate the owner of a family of four Yorkshire Terrier dogs that were left at a stables in Abercwmboi, Rhondda Cynon Taf.
Alongside the little dogs there was a handwritten note asking that they be taken care of and giving their names.
Jessie, Sweep, Sooty and Ben were all taken to the local authority pound where they will be kept for seven days before moving into our care.
Darcy is a cute little 6 month old Yorkie pup that has come into our care from our vets. Sadly she had been involved in a road traffic accident with significant injuries to both of her back legs. We were extremely concerned that her legs could not be saved and she would have to be euthanised. But we never give up on a dog without at least trying to help, so we referred her to a specialist orthopaedic vet at Alphavets. Her X-ray results and assessment show that her one leg can be mended with a plate and pins.
This month is another busy time for our fundraising. Please come along and support us as we raise much-needed funds for the Hope Rescue dogs.
If you are interested in helping out at any of the events, we would really love to see you. Please get in touch on firstname.lastname@example.org
Please come along to support the Rudry Village Riding Club Family Dog Show on Saturday, 23rd July. The show starts at 1pm and the proceeds will be shared between Hope Rescue and Guide Dogs Cymru.

We are delighted to be chosen by Cwmbran Pets at Home as the charity for their Support Adoption for Pets Summer Fundraising Drive, especially as we are newly partnered with this branch.
Come along and meet the Hope team there between 11am - 3pm.
If you are interested in volunteering, we need help with the collection outside the store. Anyone new to Hope is always welcome and there will be some lovely Hope dogs there too.
