Retail Trustee Role

We are recruiting for a retail trustee

** Apply by 5 November **

Could you support a well- established local charity by becoming a Trustee? This is a fantastic opportunity to really make a difference to the welfare and lives of dogs in need in the South Wales area.

Waggy Welsh Walk 2017

Join Hope Rescue and the South Wales Dog Walking Club for the Waggy Welsh Walk 2017.

Starting out from Whitmore Bay on Barry Island at 5.30pm, we will be walking a picturesque three mile circular walk. Take in the breathtaking views from the clifftops as we head out to Jacksons Bay just as the sun sets. The walk will continue on solid paths and sand for three miles, finishing up where we started under the Eastern Shelter on Whitmore Bay (Barry Island main beach).

Tinned Food Appeal

We are in urgent need of tinned food for the dogs at our rescue centre in Llanharan. We would be very grateful if you could help us by donating a few tins to our appeal.

There are three ways you can help:

1. You can purchase tinned food from our Amazon wishlist where we have listed some good value items. This will then be delivered directly to our rescue centre. You can find the wishlist here.

Urgent Appeal for Information

** REWARD NOW £700 **

We are appealing for information about a stray dog found on Rhigos Mountain near Aberdare, on Tuesday afternoon at approximately 1pm. The dog, thought to be a young Mastiff-type breed, was in such an appalling condition that on vet advice, he was put to sleep to end his misery. A reward is being offered of up to £700 for information leading to the identification of the person responsible.

New Fundraising Volunteer Roles

We have three new volunteering opportunities working in our fundraising team.

These roles will report in to our Fundraising Manager and are all based in South Wales. We are looking for the following:

Lead Fundraiser - responsible for generating income through arranging, coordinating and participating in fundraising events and shows.

Static Collections Coordinator - responsible for the income generation through placement, management and promotion of static collection boxes in various locations across the local community.

Look Who's Had Visitors!

Yes, we have some great news to share. The lovely Fudge, who appeared on Animal Rescue Live this week, had a visit from potential adopters Ryan and Alice. This is brilliant news and subject to a successful home check, we can confirm that Fudge has now found her forever home.

Ryan and Alice from Cardiff saw Fudge on #AnimalRescueLive and applied straight away. It’s the perfect match and we are so happy for them all.

Don’t forget to tune in tonight for the final show – Channel 4 at 8pm.

Fudge Takes Centre Stage

One of our lovely Cocker Spaniel mums tastes the limelight as she appears on Channel 4’s Animal Rescue Live this evening, Tuesday 8th August.

Sat alongside none other than the Supervet himself, Professor Noel Fitzpatrick, she features on the show that aims to draw attention to the benefits of adopting a rescue pet.
