Petplan and the Association of Dogs and Cats Homes (ADCH) Animal Charity Awards celebrate outstanding animal charities and not-for-profit organisations across the UK who go that extra mile to help rescue and rehome animals in need. These awards provide an opportunity to recognise the dedication and commitment of charities and give pet owners a chance to say 'thank you'.
Please vote for Hope Rescue to benefit from Aviva's Community Fund.
Our rescue dogs need you and we have less than 24 hours! We need to reach the Top 8 projects to win the chance to secure £25,000 funding from Aviva for a Sensory Garden and Home from Home room at our rescue centre. We are doing a final push before voting closes at 12 p.m. tomorrow. We need another 3,000 votes to take us to 10,000 - that is just 300 dog lovers casting their 10 votes each.
From time to time we have to raise our concerns about the number of stray dogs being found that are not being reported to the dog warden, or are being kept initially then passed on again. The stray dog laws are in place for a reason - to ensure there is a robust legal process in place and to give the owners the very best chance of finding their lost dog. Not everyone is on social media to see a found dog post on a lost and found site. It is vital that stray dogs are checked for a microchip.
Our first Waggy Welsh Walk on Barry Island, South Wales was a great success. Over 80 dogs and their human companions joined us for a moonlit stroll along the coastline and helped to raise over £2,000.

Starting out from Whitmore Bay on Barry Island at 5.30pm, we will be walking a picturesque three mile circular walk. Take in the breathtaking views from the clifftops as we head out to Jacksons Bay just as the sun sets. The walk will continue on solid paths and sand for three miles, finishing up where we started under the Eastern Shelter on Whitmore Bay (Barry Island main beach).
We are in urgent need of tinned food for the dogs at our rescue centre in Llanharan. We would be very grateful if you could help us by donating a few tins to our appeal.
There are three ways you can help:
1. You can purchase tinned food from our Amazon wishlist where we have listed some good value items. This will then be delivered directly to our rescue centre. You can find the wishlist here.
