Teamwork At Its Best!

We were called to help a litter of 7 orphaned pups by Budget Vets. Their mother had very sadly died during a C-section leaving her newborn pups needing to be hand-reared.

Thanks to the swift action from Budget Vets we agreed to take them and they transferred the litter over to Summerhill Vets for emergency overnight care in the surgery. With amazing teamwork and the hard work of our staff, volunteers and some fantastic vet practices and their nurses, within 24 hours the emergency care and experienced foster homes these little one need had been arranged. This gives these poor orphans the very best chance of survival.

The vets are pleased with their progress and the first 24 hours went well. They are all a good weight and feeding well but we know that they still face an uphill battle. Mum was some type of hound (possibly Beagle) x Lab so they are fairly chunky. Hand rearing pups is a difficult task so please keep everything crossed that they continue to thrive.
