At Hope Rescue we commit to take all the stray dogs from four Local Authority pounds in South Wales; no-one gets left behind irrespective of age, breed or medical condition.
Doug recently came into our care from one of the pounds. He suffered from a couple of seizures whilst in the pound and is now safe in foster care where he is receiving treatment for epilepsy. At the moment we are working hard to get his medication levels right. Doug is also very overweight. As a brachycephalic breed Pugs are already prone to breathing problems so the extra weight means he is struggling even more. He needs to lose 2kg and is on a special diet with gentle exercise. Once he is stabilised Doug will be looking for a very special home.
