This year Hope Rescue celebrates its tenth anniversary – what better way to mark such a milestone than by raising £10,000?
There are lots of activities planned for the week, including an indoor Fun Dog Show, Street Collections, Meets and Greets, Supermarket Collections, Adoption Drive, Online Auction, Raffle, Virtual Dog Show and activities in the Charity Shop. The target is to raise £10,000 – one thousand for every year that Hope Rescue has been helping dogs in need.
We are looking for a volunteer Publicity Coordinator to be responsible for promoting all Hope Rescue dogs for adoption or fostering.
The role holder will be responsible for updating the Hope Rescue website and social media; producing posters and other promotional material; maintaining the adoption and fostering books used at events and in the charity shop; arranging displays in the charity shop; liaising with local media and writing press releases.
Ideally we want someone who lives in South Wales and who has some marketing/PR experience.
We had a really fabulous time at the Bedwellty Show; the sun shone and the day was a great success. We raised a record amount and are really vey grateful to eveyone who turned out to support us.
Here is just a vey small slection of photos taken on the day.
It's that time of year again and our annual Barking Mad Fun Dog Show promises to be bigger and better than ever before!
Held in the grounds of historic Llancaiach Fawr Manor, in Nelson near Caerphilly, the show is always a great crowd-puller and offers something for all the family.
Summer holidays are always just as busy for rescues as Christmas. Although it’s not obvious why that is the case, we think part of the reason could be that some owners literally discard their dogs while they go away on holiday. It is something that we need to be ready to respond to every year.
We will be having a stall at The Big Cheese on both Saturday and Sunday, 25th and 26th July. This is a great annual event in the middle of Caerphilly and is really popular with residents and visitors alike.
Volunteers are needed to help us with our stall as it can get very busy. We also need doggie deli bakers as this is always very popular and we can easily sell out!
Hope Rescue has been awarded a grant of £1,000 for its Community Shop project from the Jewson Building Better Communities fund. The award also includes a new kitchen from Symphony, one of Jewson’s suppliers.
Hope Rescue was short-listed as a regional finalist and grants of between £1,000 and £5,000 were on offer with 63 worthy projects across the country making it onto the short list.
Once again Rudry Riding Club are very kindly holding a Fun Dog Show in aid of Hope Rescue on Sunday 19th July from 1 to 5pm.
Bring your dogs and take part in our fun dog show - it's indoors so will be on come rain or shine!
We will be needing lots of volunteers to help - so if you can spare some time, we'd love to hear from you.
Please support our summer Fun Dog Shows and help us to raise much-needed funds. All of these events are great fun for the family and there will be stalls and other attractions - so something for everyone!
Come rain or shine we need to make these shows a real success and they are an important part of our fundraising. It would be great to see you all there!
If you would like to volunteer to help at any of these shows, please get in touch with us on firstname.lastname@example.org
