Hope Rescue's new charity shop premises have already been put to good use even before the development work has begun.
Pop Up Shops are being held at the Taff Street shop every Wednesday and Saturday until the premises have been fitted out and all interior refurbishment work has been completed.
On its first day, the shop took over £800 showing that the local community has already started to get behind this new charity shop venture. Some really good donations have also been received.
The shop address is 77 Taff Street, Pontypridd (it currently has a Shoe Zone sign outside). There are some great items for sale, as well as information about the work of the charity and dogs looking for new homes.
Anyone who would like to donate items for sale (sorry, no furniture please) or who would like to volunteer to lend a hand should contact Hope Rescue on firstname.lastname@example.org
Plans for the first floor above the shop include the creation of a volunteer hub and kitchen area. This will enable Hope Rescue to provide training for both volunteers and supported employment placements, as well as hosting Knit and Natter groups, craft workshops, baking workshops, responsible dog ownership events, a dog foodbank and lots of other social/community activities. The vision for the shop is to not only provide a sustainable income stream to support the rescue, but to also become an integral part of the community.
