Four New Trustees Join Hope Rescue

We are pleased to announce the appointment of four new Hope Rescue Trustees, who are all based in South Wales, and who join our existing Board of Vanessa Waddon, Paula Rowe and Kate Needham. As many of you will know, this is a very exciting time for us as we embark on our first major capital project, buying our very own rescue centre. The new Trustees will play a key role in delivering this project, and also in shaping our future strategic direction. They each bring with them a wealth of experience, skills and knowledge which will be invaluable as we enter this new chapter for Hope Rescue.

Lynda Clark – Treasurer and Company Secretary

Lynda has worked in finance for the past 32 years, with the last 22 years working in Social Housing, and a short spell in a Local Authority.  A very experienced Finance Director, she has also managed ICT, HR, Facilities as well as acting as a Company Secretary. Her special interests are long term financial planning and governance. Lynda’s family has had rescue dogs for the past 15 years and they currently have a chocolate Labrador and a Chihuahua cross, although she says there is still space for another one or two rescues! She lives on a smallholding and also has 3 horses, 2 cats and 14 chickens.

Sian Prigg – HR and Volunteer Management

Sian is a CIPD qualified HR, Recruitment and Learning & Development professional with over 15 years’ experience in a variety of industries. She is currently employed as the Head of HR and Talent for one of the leading Apprenticeship training providers in the UK where she has worked for the last three and a half years after returning home to South Wales. Sian lives with her partner Christopher and Hope Rescue dog Dewie and the three of them can usually be found on a remote mountain somewhere when not at work.

Bernadette Jones – Income Generation and Fundraising

Bernadette brings her knowledge and experience of developing strong partnerships with donors and corporate supporters. These skills and experiences will be invaluable as she works with corporate sponsors and individuals, demonstrating how their sponsorship and pledges will impact on the success of the new rescue centre. Bernadette is passionate about animals, sharing her family home with two Italian Greyhounds: Shadow and Dave; two Sphynx boys: Trefor and Pharoah, and four chickens: Wander, Bluebell, Geraldine and Tulip.

Kim Lambert – Procurement, Contracts and Book-keeping

Kim has been a Hope Rescue volunteer for several years and is passionate about animal welfare. She has worked in Procurement for many years, including in local government, manufacturing and retail industries, and currently works for a local utility company. Her role will encompass responsibility for contracts and procurement to ensure that we can achieve best value for money in everything we do, including the goods and service we purchase. Kim is a proud member of the ‘Hope Rescue Failed Fosters Club’, having fostered then adopted a black bull lurcher called Joey.
