Big appeal for little Darcy

Darcy is a cute little 6 month old Yorkie pup that has come into our care from our vets. Sadly she had been involved in a road traffic accident with significant injuries to both of her back legs. We were extremely concerned that her legs could not be saved and she would have to be euthanised. But we never give up on a dog without at least trying to help, so we referred her to a specialist orthopaedic vet at Alphavets. Her X-ray results and assessment show that her one leg can be mended with a plate and pins. A couple of toes have been amputated from the other foot but the vet is hopeful that it will heal.

Surgery like this is not cheap and we have been given a cost £3,000 plus the costs of follow-up vet visits and any treatment required to get her well again. This is a huge amount for a small charity but the alternative was to put Darcy to sleep and we felt she deserved a chance.

Once she has her surgery she will be cared for in one of our amazing foster homes, who happens to be a vet nurse, so she will be in very good hands.

We would be extremely grateful if anyone is able to contribute to these significant costs. We have set up a Justgiving Page for Darcy here:

You can also donate by texting DRCY99 and an amount of £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10 to 70070.

Every amount, however small, will contribute to her care and will really make a difference.

Thank you so much in anticipation of your support.
