Another Emergency Admission

This lovely Shar pei girl was found in Penygraig earlier covered in blood. It seems she escaped and got in to a scrap with another dog. We traced her owners who weren't able to pay for her vet care and she has now been signed over to us. We have named her Sian. The poor girl was in shock with over 30 puncture wounds, lacerations and a nasty degloving injury on her leg and neck. Her blood pressure was low from the blood loss.

Sian has been in emergency surgery all afternoon getting sutured by our fantastic vets. She's got a drain in to help with fluid build-up and will stay in overnight. We're hoping she can come back to the centre tomorrow. There is a chance her wounds may break down but fingers crossed they stay sound. She also has entropion in both eyes that will require surgery, as well as bad ears so will be with us for some time whilst we get her health issues sorted.

We can't quite believe how many emergency cases we are seeing at the moment. It's really hitting us hard. If anyone is able to donate a little something towards our vets bills so we can continue to help dogs like Sian we would be so grateful.
