Sian came into our care as a stray, with numerous nasty wounds all over her body, caused by another dog, as well as needing treatment for her eye and ears. She recovered from her ordeal very well and has now undergone her first round of entropian surgery on her eyes. She still needs to go under anaesthetic again to flush her ears and have further eye treatment but so far is doing very well and is ready to start looking for her new home!
Sian can be quite suspicious of people she doesn't know and take a while to build trust. However once she does you have a friend for life and she is affection and playful.
Sian needs some further support around dogs, following her previous experience. Help and advice will be given on this by the staff at the centre but at the moment she would prefer to be the only dog in the home. She needs an owner who understands the medical needs of Shar Peis.
She would prefer a home with older children and without cats. Sian enjoys her exercise but doesn't need a huge amount and is generally just happy to relax after she has had a nice potter. She will benefit from being visited at the centre a number of times to get to know her new adopter and show what a wonderful girl she is!
Whenever dogs comes into our care they are assessed before they are adopted. This is because the majority of our dogs come from Local Authority pounds and with little or no previous history. This initial assessment period allows us to assess temperament, personality and the best match for a new home. We do not work on a first come first served basis but always strive to find the ideal home for each dog.
All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to adoption. A homecheck is required, and you will need to come along to the centre to meet the dog with your own dog(s) and family. Our adoption fee is £200.
