Melody came to us as a stray, suffering from life threatening pyometra. Luckily she was treated quickly and has made a full recovery. However she appears to have led a sheltered life, potentially used for breeding.
Melody is a sensitive lady who takes time to find her feet in novel situations. Her foster carers have been doing a great job at helping her adjust to home life and she is starting to learn how to play with toys and enjoying her walks. She would like an owner who isn't out for long periods as she can still get insecure on her own.
Melody doesn't need a huge amount of exercise but she would still like to get out and about daily, exploring on walks and she loves a play off lead. She can live with another dog. Melody can live with children but they would need to understand not to overwhelm her. Melody is affectionate once she knows you and loves to cuddle up next to you on the sofa. She will need patient owners who understand to take it slow and give her support when she needs it.
Whenever dogs comes into our care they are assessed before they are adopted. This is because the majority of our dogs come from Local Authority pounds and with little or no previous history. This initial assessment period allows us to assess temperament, personality and the best match for a new home. We do not work on a first come first served basis but always strive to find the ideal home for each dog.
All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to adoption. A homecheck is required, and you will need to come along to the centre to meet the dog with your own dog(s) and family. Our adoption fee is £200.
