Lucy is a 3-year-old Terrier. She has had some bad luck recently and hasn't be compatible with some of the other dogs she was hoping to live with so is still looking for her new home. Lucy is an active and bright little lady; however she also does have a sensitive side and needs gentle handling and encouragement. Lucy loves other dogs and does worry when on her own, so we would like her new home to have another dog already. This dog will need to be confident and well-adjusted but also be keen to play! Lucy struggles to meet new dogs on the lead and can appear quite reactive. However, this initial reaction is very easy to manage and the team at the centre will support new owners in training her how to make these greetings more appropriate. Once she knows a dog she is very friendly and playful. Lucy could live with older children and possibly a cat depending on how dog savvy they were and pending a cat test. Lucy does need an owner who is used to terriers and who is keen to do some further training with her. She is a very sweet little lady who is desperate to find the loving and active home she deserves.
Whenever dogs comes into our care they are assessed before they are adopted. This is because the majority of our dogs come from Local Authority pounds and with little or no previous history. This initial assessment period allows us to assess temperament, personality and the best match for a new home. We do not work on a first come first served basis but always strive to find the ideal home for each dog.
All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to adoption. A homecheck is required, and you will need to come along to the centre to meet the dog with your own dog(s) and family. Our adoption fee is £180.
