Leonard

2 Year Old Male Mastiff Cross

Leonard is a 2 year old Mastiff cross. He came into our care as a stray with a horrendous untreated wound to his front leg but has since made a full recovery and is ready to find his new home.

Leonard is a very friendly chap but he is finding kennel like very difficult and so isn't showing his true potential. He is a strong and boisterous dog so needs an owner who can manage this and use positive reinforcement to teach him to relax. Leonard gets on well with other dog, although he can be too much for some. He could like with another well adjusted dog but he may be a bit too much for cats (although this would depend on how dog savvy the cat was!)

Leonard is very playful and he is usually seen at the centre carrying a soft toy around in his mouth, he would like his owner to have a supply of kong wubbas, his absolute favourite toy!!

He knows lots of behaviours and really enjoys learning new tricks. He is housetrained and travels well in a car.

Leonard can live with older teenagers.

Whenever dogs comes into our care they are assessed before they are adopted. This is because the majority of our dogs come from Local Authority pounds and with little or no previous history. This initial assessment period allows us to assess temperament, personality and the best match for a new home. We do not work on a first come first served basis but always strive to find the ideal home for each dog.

All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to adoption. A homecheck is required, and you will need to come along to the centre to meet the dog with your own dog(s) and family. Our adoption fee is £200.
