Henry is an 18 month old Staffie who appears to have had a difficult start in life. When he came into the centre as a stray he had clearly received a trauma to his head as his eyes were deeply blood shot due to bruising. It is clear that Henry has received a lot of punishment in his short life as he struggles to know how to deal with affection or to know how to act around people or dogs appropriately. He can appear very full on due to being a bundle of anxious energy. Henry is making big improvements at the centre and is proving to be a loving and bright dog who is very eager to please when given positive reinforcement and the right gentle guidelines. However he would now benefit from being in a home environment as the additional stress in kennels will limit his progress.
We would love to find Henry a foster home with a view to adoption who will be willing to continue his training with full support from the staff at the centre. Henry does like other dogs but due to the need for him to be kept calm and his social skills needing a little more work he would need to be an only dog. We are looking for a home with adults or older teenagers, again to the need for Henry to have consistency and be in a calm environment. Henry is a gorgeous young dog and to see him start to relax and be able to enjoy his interactions with people and his environment will be very rewarding. If you are an experienced bull breed owner then please do get in touch.
Whenever dogs comes into our care they are assessed before they are adopted. This is because the majority of our dogs come from Local Authority pounds and with little or no previous history. This initial assessment period allows us to assess temperament, personality and the best match for a new home. We do not work on a first come first served basis but always strive to find the ideal home for each dog.
All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to adoption. A homecheck is required, and you will need to come along to the centre to meet the dog with your own dog(s) and family. Our adoption fee is £180.
