Dustin is a 6 year old bull lurcher. He is a very sensitive chap who hasn't had the best care previously but has began to blossom since arriving with us.
Dustin can be a bit worried meeting new people and dogs but once he trust you he is an affectionate and playful boy. He loves to lean into you for a fuss and rest his head on your lap. Dustin would prefer a home without young children due to his sensitive nature. He can live with another dog and could possibly live with a dog savy cat, depending on introductions.
Dustin will need a bit of help with building his confidence, especially with the vet so he would like an owner who understand the needs of worried dogs and will use positive reinforcement to help him build better associations with scary things. Full support will be given by the staff at the centre with this.
Dustin doesn't need a huge amount of exercise but he does love a run in the field and playing with toys. He will make a wonderful companion in the right home.
Whenever dogs comes into our care they are assessed before they are adopted. This is because the majority of our dogs come from Local Authority pounds and with little or no previous history. This initial assessment period allows us to assess temperament, personality and the best match for a new home. We do not work on a first come first served basis but always strive to find the ideal home for each dog.
All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to adoption. A homecheck is required, and you will need to come along to the centre to meet the dog with your own dog(s) and family. Our adoption fee is £200.
