Connie is a 2-year-old Border Collie who has been waiting for her new home since December 2016.
Connie was found straying and no owner came forward to collect her. She was very scared in kennels but was lucky to find a lovely foster home who have cared for her since. However she is still looking for a permanent new home of her own.
Connie is a sensitive lady and can find the outside world quite stressful, particularly busy environments with lots of dogs, noise and people. She does have one canine friend but she finds meeting new dogs difficult and although this is improving, at the moment will need to be the only dog in the home.
Ideally Connie would be suited to a rural environment where she can enjoy walks away from lots of traffic, noise and large numbers of unknown dogs. Connie would like her new home to have a garden as she loves relaxing here in her foster home.
Connie will suit an active home with experience of her breed. She is a very bright dog and she would love her new owner to have some experience of positive reward based training to teach her new things and help her overcome her anxieties. She is very eager to learn and is keen to work to treats and praise.
Connie is housetrained and can be left alone for short periods. Her foster carers say she is the perfect dog in the house and is very affectionate to them and to any visitors to the home.
Connie can live with older teenagers and children. She is a very special lady and has a huge amount of affection and potential to offer to the right home.
