Abney is a 6 year old Lurcher. He came into our care as a stray in very poor condition and terrified of the world but he has been blossoming at the centre and become a frim favourite amongst the staff. Abney is still a worried chap so he would like a quieter home without children where he can be allowed to build his confidence slowly. He can live with similar sized dogs but he would prefer a home without cats and small furries.
Abney does suffer from separation related anxiety and will benefit from living with another dog and with someone who isn't out for long periods. Abney loves toys and running around the field, he can be a real clown when he feels brave enough to let this side of him show! Once he builds up trust in you he is affectionate and likes to lie next to you on the sofa. He is a very special boy and in the right home, with time and patience, he will make a very rewarding companion.
Whenever dogs comes into our care they are assessed before they are adopted. This is because the majority of our dogs come from Local Authority pounds and with little or no previous history. This initial assessment period allows us to assess temperament, personality and the best match for a new home. We do not work on a first come first served basis but always strive to find the ideal home for each dog.
All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to adoption. A homecheck is required, and you will need to come along to the centre to meet the dog with your own dog(s) and family. Our adoption fee is £200.
