** CURRENT VOLUNTEER VACANCIES **
Our team of volunteers is growing and we have new opportunities, including:
- Customer Services/Café Assistants - apply here
- Retail Fundraising Assistants- apply here
- Stockroom Assistants - apply here
We are building our team so there will be several opportunities available for each of the above roles.
Details of the roles are shown below at the bottom of this page.
If you are interested in applying for one of these volunteer roles, please use the links above or contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Our charity shop has re-opened following a major refurbishment and it really is unrecognisable now from what it used to look like; it’s already doing really well and is proving to be very popular.
The address is 77 Taff Street, Pontypridd CF37 4SU and we’re open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm. Contact: email@example.com 01443 405360
There are so many great items for sale as well as information about our dogs looking for homes, volunteering opportunities, events and activities, as well as information about our rescue centre in Llanharan and the work we do helping dogs in need across South Wales.
We are very excited to let you know that in a few weeks' time, our dog friendly cafe will be open for business. You'll be able to enjoy a drink and a snack with your dogs - and we even have treats and biscuits for them too. Watch this space for more news and be one of the first to enjoy our in-store cafe.
We will need more volunteers to help in our shop, so if you can spare some time, please do get in touch. It’s a fun place to be, with a great team and a variety of different roles including:
- Stockroom assistants
- Visual Merchandisers
- Cafe assistants
- Doggie Deli Bakers
- Craft Tutors
- Canine Assistants
Upstairs in the shop we have a training room which will be used by volunteers to make hand-crafted items to sell in the shop and raise much needed funds for our dogs. We will be holding various formal craft workshops, group sessions and courses, as well as informal "drop-in" sessions.
We are therefore looking for tutors or experienced crafters who are willing to volunteer their time to teach others. The type of items we make include knitted dog coats, dog bandanas, knitted children's toys, dog beds and collars and leads. However, we are open to any craft skills that can be used to produce items we can sell - doggy or otherwise! The time commitment involved can be anything from delivering a one-off workshop or short course to a regular weekly commitment to host a formal or informal session.
If you are interested in volunteering, please get in touch on firstname.lastname@example.org.
We would be grateful for donation of good quality items that we can sell. Parking is available on the street outside the shop before 11am and after 3pm, otherwise there are public car parks close by.
Some Thank Yous
Our new-look shop wouldn't have been possible without the generous help and support we've received along the way.
We'd firstly like to thank Rhondda Cynon Taf Council for their generous funding, without which this wouldn't have been possible. Thank you to the Council officers for their encouragement and ongoing support with the refurbishment, in particular Kerry Vicker, Graham Middleton and Esther Davies. Thank you to the amazing project team; 1010 Architects, Highland Services, ASR Projects, Burningred, D&S Signs Ltd and Lumber Construction for transforming our shop into what has quickly become known as "the poshest shop in Ponty". Thank you to our new Retail Manager Katy Scourfield and Deputy Manager Rebecca Wall and of course our amazing team of volunteers for your continued hard work. And finally, a huge thank you to you - whether you've donated, adopted, fostered or just visited us - for supporting us along this journey.
